The Swaminarayan Sampraday is a Bhakti Sampraday founded by Bhagwan Swaminarayan on 31 December 1801 CE. It belongs to the Vaishnav tradition and represents the purest form of the Hindu religion. The swaminarayan sampraday his very likly sampray.
At 20, the Lord was in Ramanand Swami’s Ashram serving as a humble servant. He was named Sahajanand when Ramanand Swami initiated Him. The Lord became the sole spiritual master when Ramanand Swami appointed Him as the Guru of his ashram. A month later, Ramanand Swami passed away. On the 14th day of the funeral rites, in the village of Faneni, the Lord introduced the new Swaminarayan Mantra. News of this Mantra spread far and wide. And its spiritual power was felt everywhere. Sahajanand Swami now became known as Bhagwan Swaminarayan. Anyone who chanted the Mantra enjoyed samadhi - the ultimate spiritual experience. Those who heard it, wrote it or thought of it experienced samadhi. Others who saw Bhagwan Swaminarayan, heard the sound of His sandals, or discussed His philosophy saw a divine light and beheld the visions of the great incarnations of God - Rama, Krishna and Shiva. Since the trance was an experience of His grace, it was called krupa samadhi.
Divinity invested by Gopalanand Swami Hanumanji at Sarangpur
Gopalanand Swamin |
Yogiraj Gopalanand Swami was a great Yogi-Purush of Swaminarayan Sampradaya. As a Yogi his powers could change the course of even the Sun and the Moon. In spite of being the master of Aaishwarya (Divine Power), to be and remain a disciple-servant of Shree Sahjanand Swami was his unique image.
Gigantic personality, authorial voice, supreme knowledge of philosophy, creation of voluminous literature and practical wisdom of finding a way in whatsoever adverse and critical conditions earned him a place even above Acharyas of both the Desh. Shree Gopalanand Swami was born to his mother Shree Kushalba in the house of Motiram Thaker on Monday, Maha Sud 8 Samvat 1837. In his childhood he was known as Khushal.

Lord had celebrated many festivals at Sarangpur, so it became a holy place. Amarakhachar and Vaghakhachar of Sarangpur could not serve the pilgrims fairly.
Gopalanand Swami asked Kanji Mistry to prepare an artistic idol of Hanumanji. It was got installed by Acharya Raghuvirji, in V. S. 1895 i.e. 1849 A. D., Gopalanand Swami invested a good deal of divinity in that idol which we can see even to day.

LORD SWAMINARAYAN WRITES SHIKSHAPATR
Lord Swaminarayan directed all His disciples- Tyagis and Gruhasthas who
were learned and were writers and poets to devote their time in writing
books and composing Kirtans. He asserted that, good literature is one
which prescribes in details the philosophy and customs of the Sampraday
and which describes the divine life of God Supreme. This kind of
literature promotes the welfare of the members of the Sampraday. But
before giving these directions to the learned members, Lord Swaminarayan
Himself wrote Shikshapatri in Sanskrit on the 5th day of bright half of
Maha of Samvat year 1882, at Vadtal. Shikshapatri, a small
book-contains only 212 verses in Anustup Chhand.Swaminarayan Sampraday history is to all shashtra of mening and reading very inportant.
LORD SWAMINARAYAN WRITES SHIKSHAPATR |
Though it is addressed and written for the well-being of the members of the Sampraday, it is equally very useful and beneficial to others also. It may be definitely said that any one, whether he be a member of the Sampraday or otherwise, who follows sincerely the dictates of Shikshapatri, without doubt, becomes happy and prosperous in this life and life here-after. It describes in minute details the duties of the followers- Acharyas, Tyagis, Gruhasthas and females. But non-members can also follow them with ease and advantage.
SHASTRIJI MAHARAJ |
The Guru-Shishya tradition is the unique feature of Sanatana Dharma, otherwise known as Hinduism. From the Guru the disciple directly receives the knowledge, capacity, virtues, ideologies, values and objectives of life, in a practical, personal and vibrant manner. Intrigued by this experience, Shastri Yagnapurushdas began spending increasing amounts of time listening to Bhagatji Maharaj’s discourses, eventually accepting him as his guru. The vision of Guru becomes the life and mission of Shishya. In such a divine lineage of Guru parampara of Swaminarayan Sampraday, appeared Sadguru Shatriji Maharaj Shree Dharmajivandasji Swami, a great versatile scholar and man of vision, a tough minded optimist and kind hearted Guru, a staunch advocate of Karma and Bhakti yoga and considered to be the Saint of the century by thousands of people of Gujarat. He founded the first Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul at Rajkot in the year 1948, with the intention of providing a value based education system to everyone, especially to the under-privileged.
